NFTY Phoenix Nashir Songleading Program

These classes will meet on the second Thursday of each month from 5:00-7:00 pm

Join with other teen songleaders in Phoenix for training, skill development and hands on learning with Cantor Ross Wolman.

Jewish music is a cornerstone of the Reform Jewish movement. This program will teach you a skill set that will enable you to take advantage of the songleading opportunities at your Synagogue, Religious School, Youth Group and in NFTY.

  • Learn how to effectively teach a song
  • Work collaboratively in a team (songleading team, Religious School staff, NFTY region, etc.)
    Songlead at a Worship Service, Religious School, Youth Group Event
  • Teach early childhood music
  • Plan for a service, song session, Religious school year music program
  • Learn new melodies as well as old favorites
  • Share best practices to continue growth as a songleader after the program concludes

This event is open to any Jewish teen in grades 9 to 12.


  • This program will meet the 2nd Thursday of every month.
  • Teens are expected to participate in the entire event. Fees are set at a full package rate and unfortunately we cannot prorate registration.
  • All fees are in US Dollars

Registration fee includes:

  • Eight small group guitar and Songleading classes
  • Registration costs for a Nashir Songleading weekend in the 2017-2018 school year
  • Snacks during each meeting
  • Ongoing support and mentoring throughout the year from NFTY’s Songleading network
  • Opportunities to songlead at NFTY events in the spring
